FVF LH, 1909 Two-cent Washington horizontal coil paste-up pair with plate number 5174. Double line watermark. Note: paste-up pairs were made during the creation of coil rolls. Sheet stamps perforated in one direction were slit along the imperforate side to make strips of 20. These strips, including the margin selvedge, were then pasted together using that selvedge underneath. The stamp with the selvedge connection is a paste up, and often colleted in pairs. This paste-up pair has the plate number and star from the sheet. Durland catalog value $450.
