German Occupation of Zara Mi. 35: 1-4

1943 German occupation of the city of Zara in the Croatian part of Yugoslavia. Italy initially seized the city at the beginning of WW II, but ceded it's occupied territiories to Germany in 1944. The set of Italian military propaganda stamps was overprinted with ten horizontal lines and "Zara," in November 1943. The four 25-cent stamps represent the four branches of the military. Signed.
